Emergency Services District No. 9

Fort Bend County Emergency Service District No. 9 was created May 7, 2022, and is one of ten ESDs in Fort Bend County, organized and established by the Commissioners Court of Fort Bend County to provide fire and rescue protection and first responder services within the district’s service area. The 143-square mile service area is predominantly rural in nature, with a population of about 13,000, and a population density of around 91 people per square mile. The District collects ad valorem taxes, at a tax cap rate of $0.10 per $100 valuation, for fire and rescue protection and first responder services within the district service area and contracts with the Needville Fire Department for the delivery of those services.  The commissioners are dedicated to the fiscal stewardship of taxpayer dollars in supporting the brave men and women of the Needville Fire Department.
